Corporate Leadership Meeting and Team Building Event
July 28, 2015Following a corporate acquisition, a strategy meeting was enhanced by the addition a team building exercise to bolster the new company culture. Spending a day on the water working together to master new and unfamiliar skills was the perfect way to bring two teams together in a fun and exciting environment.
“I wanted to send you a quick note of thanks to you and your team for all your help in making our meeting a great success! This meeting helped us make great strides in our team development and the entire team had a blast!” - Paul Baddeley, Sales Strategic Planning
Challenge: Combine a leadership meeting with an active, outdoor team building activity to bring together two teams.
Solution: The team was divided into smaller groups to learn the basics of sailing and navigation. The entire team then came together to put their newfound knowledge into action by navigating through the harbor in the “Sailing Capital of America”! After a day spent in the sun, the team celebrated a hard day’s work over drinks and fresh Maryland-style seafood at Carol’s Creek, overlooking the water at sunset. Guests then retired to the newly renovated Loews Hotel, conveniently located in downtown Annapolis.
The following morning the team reviewed the skills they had learned the day prior. With communication and camaraderie at the forefront of everyone’s mind, this newly unified team buckled down for a day of productive meetings. For some fresh air, and fresher food – the team made their way to the Reynolds Tavern, just a 5-minute walk from their hotel – where they enjoyed a flavorful four-course dinner within the historic walls of the oldest tavern in the United States!
