Einstein Healthcare celebrates 150 years and Stockton & Partners plans the kickoff!

Stockton & Partners Meetings and Events planned the Einstein Healthcare Network’s 150th Anniversary Celebration Kickoff which featured both Jason Alexander as host and a finale performance by the legendary Diana Ross. Stages located throughout the venue hosted a program of speakers and entertainment. Guests were free to sit in any of the cocktail or lounge seating provided or spend the evening wandering through the event and experiencing a variety of food, photo ops, entertainment, and exhibits while networking and catching up with friends. A dramatic video produced for the event was shown on a 40′x60′ space in the center of the venue. Guests could also order their own customized 150th anniversary “Gear for the Year” ( hats, golf shirts, and other apparel) which included custom made cufflinks, charms and necklaces designed by Bernie Robbins.

S&P plans “Philadelphia Block Party” Inaugural for new mayor, Jim Kenney

Stockton & Partners Meetings and Events was honored to help bring Mayor Jim Kenney’s vision for a truly Philadelphia-centric inaugural “Block Party” to life. The celebration planners transformed Hall E of the Pennsylvania Convention Center by using award-winning that food trucks providing an elevated menu of street food, beautiful lighting reflected off fabric walls creating an outdoor, evening look and a selection of seating options. Guests enjoyed the delicious food, while strolling between trucks or stopping to mingle with others. The program included Philadelphia favorites, Jerry Blavat and Patti Jackson as well as a performance by a jazz band from CAPA. The evening raised over 700,000 for the School District of Philadelphia.

Annual festival brings science celebration to Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Science Festival recently revealed its 2013 calendar for the annual ten-day science celebration, which will take place April 18 to 28.

The festival features speakers, workshops, activities and exhibitions for people of all ages to come and expand on their understanding or share their love of science. The 2013 festival will begin April 18 with a Kick-Off Party for adults, followed a variety of activities over the next ten days. Read more »

Trade Show Floor Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

Last week I attended The Philadelphia CVB and Pennsylvania Convention Center’s Meeting Metropolis event. That event included a trade show of local businesses and venues that cater to meeting planners. As soon as I walked into the trade show I felt that something was different here. In my defense I was hungry and a bit tired so my brain was not firing on all cylinders. At first I just noticed I felt relaxed. It was not that normal…ok, here we go, let’s run the gauntlet feeling I often have. Instead of immediately heading left or right it was as if the trade show floor just absorbed me and I found myself wandering all around. Anxious to see what might be around the next corner. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was beautiful. And not in the way I find every show floor beautiful…this one had aesthetic beauty. Read more »

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Yes, the popular FX comedy series may have already brought sunshine to the minds of Philadelphia onlookers, but after spending three days in the city of brotherly love, I realized that it really does give visitors the warmth one wouldn’t necessarily expect from an East Coast destination. Not only do the members of the hospitality community act like a family amongst themselves, they make those visiting feel every bit a part of it.

At the Meeting Metropolis event last week, President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Convention Center AuthorityAhmeenah Young even referred to the 200 attendees as cousins that the city wanted to invite back again and again and again. And the fact that they’re ending the 8% labor tax at the convention center as early as June—an announcement that made event professionals throughout the room eager to go on the tour the next day—may just be the start of a growing kinship.
